Minorities Now Majority

For the first time in US history, non-Hispanic white births are NOT the majority! According to the US Census, Black, Hispanic, Asian and mixed-race births made up 50.4 percent of all bundles of joy delivered in the year ending July 2011. That’s a significant increase – in 1990, non-white births accounted for just 37 percent of new arrivals.

Obama Campaign Fundraising

The April fundraising tally is out, and the Obama re-election campaign along with Democratic party managed to raise a hefty 43.6 million dollars. This makes the president’s team well on its way to surpass the $750 million raised in 2008. Meanwhile, Mitt Romney’s campaign pulled in a healthy $40 million in funds last month – over three times the amount raised in March.

With Alzheimer’s on the rise, the U.S. National Institutes of Health have unveiled an extensive strategy to put an end to the illness by the year 2025. The Institutes are promoting various initiatives, including a number of clinical trials. Healthcare providers will also be given access to free training on the best methods for early detection and treatment.

Third Of Americans Would Fail Citizenship Test

A study from Xavier University in Cincinnati Ohio has concluded that a third of Americans would fail the US citizenship test. Researchers asked more than a thousand people 10 random questions from the quiz, examples being “We Elect A President For How Many Years?” and “What Is The Highest Court In the United States?” Thirty-five percent of those tested couldn’t answer five of the ten questions correctly.
